મહા નવમી
The ninth night, Siddhidatri. A quieter aarti. Dussehra is tomorrow morning.નવમી રાત્રિ, સિદ્ધિદાત્રી. શાંત આરતી. દશેરા કાલે સવારે છે.
દશેરા
Vijaya Dashami. In the morning, bless the tools you work with. The garba season is over.વિજયા દશમી. સવારે જેનાથી કામ કરો તેને આશીર્વાદો. ગરબાની ઋતુ પૂરી.
શરદ પૂર્ણિમા
The full moon after Navratri. Set milk in the moonlight, then drink it. A fast until evening is common.નવરાત્રિ પછીની પૂનમ. દૂધ ચાંદનીમાં મૂકો, પછી પીઓ. સાંજ સુધીનો ઉપવાસ સામાન્ય છે.
ધનતેરસ
Buy one useful metal thing, light a yam lamp, and in the evening do Lakshmi's puja. This night is also Pradosh.એક ઉપયોગી ધાતુની વસ્તુ લો, શેરડીના દીવા કરો, અને સાંજે લક્ષ્મીની પૂજા. આ રાત્રિ પ્રદોષ પણ છે.
કાળી ચૌદસ
Narak Chaturdashi. An early bath, an oil massage if that is your house, and lamps again in the evening.નરક ચતુર્દશી. વહેલું સ્નાન, ઘરનો રિવાજ હોય તો તેલની માલિશ, અને સાંજે ફરી દીવા.
દિવાળી
Lakshmi puja after sunset on the moonless night. Clean the doorway, light lamps, and keep the books open.અમાસની રાત્રે સૂર્યાસ્ત પછી લક્ષ્મીપૂજન. બારણું સાફ કરો, દીવા કરો, અને ચોપડી ખુલ્લી રાખો.
બેસતું વર્ષ
Gujarati new year, the morning after Diwali. Wear something fresh, open the year's books, and greet people.ગુજરાતી નૂતન વર્ષ, દિવાળીના બીજા દિવસની સવાર. નવું પહેરો, વર્ષની ચોપડી ખોલો, અને લોકોને રામતેજ કરો.
અન્નકૂટ
Govardhan puja, kept on Bestu Varas in Gujarat. Cook many small dishes and offer them before you eat.ગોવર્ધન પૂજા, ગુજરાતમાં બેસતા વર્ષે. ઘણી નાની વાનગીઓ રાંધો અને ખાઓ તે પહેલાં ધરાવો.
ભાઈ બીજ
A sister feeds her brother and wishes him a long life. A meal together is the whole festival.બહેન ભાઈને જમાડે છે અને લાંબી ઉંમરની ઇચ્છા રાખે છે. સાથે જમવાનું એ જ તહેવાર છે.
લાભ પાંચમ
Open the shop or the laptop and write a profit, even a small one. Greet customers.દુકાન કે લેપટોપ ખોલો અને નફો લખો, નાનો હોય તો પણ. ગ્રાહકોને રામતેજ કરો.
તુલસી વિવાહ
Marry the tulsi plant to a shaligram or a Krishna picture. Any day from Devutthana to Kartak Purnima is acceptable.તુલસીનાં લગ્ન શાલિગ્રામ કે કૃષ્ણના ફોટા સાથે. દેવઉત્થાનથી કારતક પૂર્ણિમા સુધીનો કોઈ પણ દિવસ ચાલે.
દેવ દિવાળી
The gods' Diwali, on Kartak full moon. Light lamps again, at the temple or the doorway. A fast until evening is traditional.દેવોની દિવાળી, કારતકની પૂનમે. મંદિરે કે બારણે ફરી દીવા કરો. સાંજ સુધીનો ઉપવાસ પરંપરા છે.
મોક્ષદા એકાદશી
Gita Jayanti. No grain today. Read a few verses if you can, or simply keep the fast.ગીતા જયંતી. આજે અનાજ નહીં. થોડા શ્લોક વાંચી શકો તો વાંચો, નહીં તો ઉપવાસ બસ છે.
ઉત્તરાયણ
Kite day, when the sun enters Makara. Fly one kite if you can, and eat undhiyu or a winter meal.પતંગનો દિવસ, સૂર્ય મકરમાં પ્રવેશે ત્યારે. શક્ય હોય તો એક પતંગ ઉડાડો, અને ઊંધિયું કે શિયાળાનું જમવાનું ખાઓ.
